Slow Progress

Progress was slowly made and eventually we paid the deposit, booked our preferred night and then proceeded to contact and further confirm with the bands what was going on. All consultations with my group kind of went as I’ve shown in the screenshot below but I guess there isn’t so much to do right now. From all the work we’ve done so far I’ve certainly learned that I need to start controlling my stress levels better and try and be more motivating for others rather than just freaking out on my own about looming deadlines that haven’t as of yet been hit.

This was a few weeks ago now and since we have loosely given out roles within the group. I liaise with the designers, the venue, Cosmo Calling and (between Laura and I) Hey Lama. Laura has been in charge of the finance and marketing including making the Facebook page and creating posters etc and has liaised with our (now confirmed) 3rd artist Nolan Garrett, whilst Jack has been providing general input on decision making.

Through my role I have been able to manage a lot of the project and confirm a lot of the more important details which would dictate whether or not the gig would go ahead or not, this has meant that to a certain extent I have been able to control my stress levels as I have not had to rely upon other people to get things done.

After we initially got the ball rolling again one problem kept on cropping up; what is gonna be our night different? We sat down and brainstormed and came to a conclusion by quite simply asking, ‘what do we all like that’s an easy theme and music related?’ answer: Festivals.  This theme is accessible to students (especially LIPA students) as part festivals are a huge part of todays youth culture and almost all people in . In addition to this it’s a relatively easy theme for us to create as everything festival related is usually seen as being very organic and easy going. We feel as though it’s an effective theme that people can easily relate to though we don’t expect anyone to come dressed up or anything, it’s just to create a friendlier atmosphere within the venue and add another dynamic to our evening. As I mentioned previously we’ve asked Rachel Jones to help us achieve this aesthetic though it’s seeming harder than we expected to pin down what we’re actually going to do as everyone is so busy. This is very much in the mix and I’m really hoping it all comes together otherwise we’re not gonna be doing great in terms of marks if our night is just a gig night. So in light of this I have contacted another designer called Ellie Light in hope to have a back up just in case Rachel can’t pull through despite my

pushing for stronger communication.Screen Shot 2017-04-21 at 11.51.01.pngScreen Shot 2017-04-21 at 11.46.29
