About

Much of my life has been spent listening to music, watching live bands, going to photo shoots and video shoots with my dad. This upbringing has meant that I’ve always had a deep routed interest and curiosity in how the industry actually works; how music is made, who creates the artwork and the image, who’s ideas form the final product, how good music is discovered etc. This led naturally to me starting to work on projects as a runner or assistant from being 14 or so (at the time I thought I was massively important but in hindsight maybe my role’s weren’t as groundbreaking as I initially thought). But regardless of how useful I actually was when I first started as a runner for photo shoots and backstage at small festivals and gigs, the experience helped me realise that I really did want to pursue a career in the music industry.

In the coming years after this I began to throw myself into many area’s of the entertainment industry; I continued working on photo/video shoots, I began training as a lighting technician at my local theatre, was employed 3 consecutive years as the head production runner for a small festival before being promoted to running the backstage area for one of the largest stages, I also worked in press at Leeds Festival and worked as the assistant set designer for a festival. I even had my own weekly radio show for 18 months.

Throughout this time I also made the conscious effort to keep my ‘creative juices’ flowing and pursued art GCSE and A levels which allowed me a hopefully even more rounded view of the arts in general and will always be a subject that I’m passionate about and intend to incorporate in my future work as much as possible.

All this experience led me to the doors of LIPA, having had so many recommendations from graduates and industry professionals I thought I’d see what all the fuss was about and so here I am now, a young (and I’m sure naive) management student hoping to one day maybe make it somewhere.
